Heather M. Maranges is a Social and Personality Psychology doctoral candidate at Florida State University who seeks to understand what facilitates cooperation. In particular, she studies the nature and implications of self-control, moral cognition, and often their intersection— how individual differences in self-control affect moral cognitive processes of the actor and observer. She also examines how sleep processes, including neurobiological and genetic underpinnings, relate to self-regulation and subsequent social cognition.
